Ogni g8 si apre e si chiude con atti di repressione. E’ un rito preciso, con formule e liturgie ben delineate. E’ un cerimoniale molto partecipato, si cimentano tutti: dagli organi di informazione alla polizia. Tra un mese ci sara’ il g8 in germania. Infatti puntuali come la morte alle 8 del mattino di mercoledi’ 9 maggio 2007, 800 poliziotti comandati dai servizi anticrimine federali (BKA) tedeschi, hanno effettuato perquisizioni in diversi citta’, nonché ad uno dei principali provider indipendenti della germania, SO36.net, un progetto molto simile al nostro e vostro A/I.
Il tutto e’ stato chiaramente reso a norma di legge grazie a un decreto appositamente approvato dal parlamento tedesco, che prevede l’associazione terroristica con fini di sovversione del g8. Anche troppo impegno, considerato che ormai il termine terrorista e la parola sovversione evocano un fantasma collettivo di sicuro impatto emotivo. Sarebbe bastato mostrare qualche immagine di repertorio, pronunciare un certo numero di volte la parola terrorista-sovversivo con generico riferimento alle indagini in corso e la foto tessera di qualcuno dei perquisiti non particolarmente telegenico al notiziario della sera. Non molto di piu’ sarebbe stato sufficiente a giustificare il proprio operato.
Il rito pre g8 d’altra parte richiede alcuni agnelli sacrificali, al fine di creare la giusta atmosfera di tensione, per il summit piu’ odiato del pianeta.
Per quanto sia poca cosa vorremmo mandare un abbraccio ai ragazzi di SO36.net. Capiamo bene cosa vuol dire in questi anni di paranoie e paure avere a che fare con qualcuno che entra in casa tua sfondando la porta, prima di suonare il campanello.

The G8 call
Every G8 meeting starts and finishes with repression acts. It’s an exact ritual, with clearly outlined formulas and liturgies. It’s a very popular ceremonial, everyone wants to participate – from media to police forces. Next month the G8 summit will take place in Germany. Sure as death, Wednesday, 9th May 2007, at 8 a.m. 800 policemen led by the German Federal Criminal agency (BKA) carried out a wide searching action in several cities, including SO36.net, a major German independent provider with a project very similar to our and your A/I.
Of course, everything was made legal through a fitting decree approved by the German parliament and establishing the crime of terrorist association aiming at subverting G8 summits. What a big effort, considering that the terms “terrorist” and “subversion” already conjure up a collective spectre with a certain emotional impact. They could have simply shown some stock footage, pronouncing the word “terrorist” for a set number of times while talking about the current enquiries; they could have exposed the ID photo of some hardly photogenic person hit by the search at the evening news. They didn’t need so much more to justify their actions. The pre-G8 ritual, to be sure, requires some sacrificial lambs, in order to create the right tension setting, for the most hated summit in the planet.
It’s not much, but we’d like to give the guys at SO36.net a hug. We understand well what it means, in these paranoid, fearful years, to face someone entering your home by smashing your door before they ring the bell.
